26 August 2017 - Helpmekaar (52) ‘Virseker’ Victorious In 2017 Against Transvalia (24) - Helpmekaar were expected to stick to their guns, using their characteristic style of ‘Lions-brand’ attacking play at pace, IF, and it was a big IF, they could get their hands on the ball. Boy, were we in for a surprise up front

26 August 2017 - Belvedere (22) Making History Against Allan Glen (17)  - With Belvedere leading 22-17 with 5 minutes to go Allan Glen attacked from everywhere trying to run Belvedere off their feet. Belvedere's desperate defence kept the boys from Allan Glen from scoring the winning try and saw Belvedere winning

26 August 2017 - Framesby (45) Beats Nico Malan (24) But The Scoreline Flatters - Nico Malan hosted Framesby in both school's season ending fixture and FNB Clash. According to Mr Lotz, headmaster of Nico Malan this is the most important match of the season and all the Grade 12 boys who carry some sort of injury fake their recovery just to participate.

26 August 2017 - Tygers (0) Flirt With Extinction Against Brakkies (58) - The hosts did have their positive moments, but these came increasingly infrequently, particularly after the loss of their penetrative inside centre Nico van der Westhuizen, whose effectiveness was blunted by a high tackle in the opening minutes.

19 August 2017 - Bishops (31) Take Uninspiring Derby Against Wynberg (18) - Perhaps that is unfair to both teams.  Wynberg has had a wretched time, the Paarl Gym debacle proving a perfect illustration of the yawning divide in both attitude and ability as regards rugby in the city as opposed to the Winelands.

19 August 2017 - Union (31) Loses A Ding Dong Battle Against Grens (41) - The First Team lost 31-41 in a ding-dong battle against Grens in East London on Saturday. After the high of last weekend’s Interschools win and suffering five injuries

19 August 2017 - Sublime Bosch (36) Maul SACS (22) - SACS dominated possession and territory in the latter stages of the half but were too lateral on attack and made far too many handling errors. The Rondebosch defence must also be commended, as even when reduced to fourteen men for a period, they were determined and physical and never allowed

12 August 2017 - Union (23) Beats Volkskool (20) To Become King Of Graaf-Reinet - We kept our noses in front through Matt Harpur’s accurate boot, with him kicking three penalties before half-time. Momentum was swinging in Volkskool’s favour after the break and wave after wave of their attack resulted in them scoring an unconverted try

12 August 2017 - Graeme College (29) Beats Muir (3) In Physical Encounter - This brought to an end a good season for the Graeme College 1stXV as they won 12 matches, drew 1 and lost 5. Graeme has had some great depth in their rugby, with all senior teams performing superbly well throughout the season.

12 August 2017 - Late Rally Sees Young Maties (33) Home v Boland Landbou (24) - Boland Landbou appeared to be coasting home as they led Paul Roos 24-19 going into the final quarter, but they had not counted on the commitment of the Maroon Platoon, who pulled through via two late converted tries to claim victory by a nine-point margin.

12 August 2017 - Bishops (15) Stuns SACS (12) - It took SACS until twenty-nine minutes into the second half to eventually get on the scoresheet. Good build up play from flank CJ Ikemefuna saw him held up over the line before centre Chad van der Loo ripped the ball clear to score. Crucially Abrahams missed the conversion.

05 August 2017 - Pearson (35) Dominates A Limping Union (3) - What one did not expect was that Union will lose both their first choice locks within the first 10 minutes of the game. This meant that David Macozoma and Mtha Mzimba played almost two matches working very hard in both. Union seemed unsettled and their initial

05 August 2017 - SACS (55) Beat Strand (8) Well - Strand High is in the process of rebuilding their rugby and will have enjoyed testing themselves against SACS. With sponsors on board and an impressive line-up of passionate coaches, they will soon be a force in Western Cape rugby circles again.

05 August 2017 - St Andrew's (40) Beats Dale (17) To Storm To A Top 10 Spot - St Andrew's walked off the field winning by 40-17. The second half provided a lot better rugby with both teams willing to run from every corner of the field but St Andrew's dominated the set pieces ensuring quality ball to an excellent backline.

29 July 2017 - Parktown (12) Going Down To A Rusty Helpmekaar (41) - Although Helpmekaar looked tired and a bit rusty, their dominance on the ground was evident from the start. Unfortunately, the returning blind-sider Liam van den Berg left the field after only a couple of minutes of play due to a knock on the head.

29 July 2017 - Graeme (24) Struggled Against A Game Pearson (15) - The Graeme 1st XV didn’t hit their straps on the day, but managed to get home winning their encounter 24-15. 03 July 2017 - Rondebosch (19) vs Queens (22) - Despite some penetrative kicking by Davis and half-back partner Jaco Barnard, solid defensive work and two inexplicably missed Bosch penalties in the closing minutes left the home side and the local crowd feeling extremely frustrated.

03 July 2017 - Wynberg (20) Surprised All In Beating Selborne (19) - The manner in which the Wynberg pack was holding their formidable opponents in check was an absolute revelation, but overconfidence almost cost them dearly as Selborne counterattacked from a line-out error, only a forward pass denying them a try.

03 July 2017 - Boland Landbou (47) Outclassed Muir (0) - Insult was added to injury as the Uitenhage side conceded a penalty try in the closing stages, the 47-0 score-line probably a fair reflection of the local team’s efficient finishing.

03 July 2017 - SACS (20) The Comeback Kings Beats Selborne (18) - Sustained attacking play led to flank Declan O’Connor popping up at the as the extra man in the line during a flowing move covering the width of the field, to cross the line for the match-clinching try in the left-hand corner.

03 July 2017 - Stellenberg (22) Goes To Sleep, Again Against Dale (7) - Dale began the second half with renewed energy, but their suspect handling let them down.  A lengthy Brown clearance almost set up another scoring opportunity for Stellies, only a cruel bounce from a van der Merwe grubber denying them.

01 July 2017 - Rondebosch (15) 27 Dale (7) 27 - Cape Schools Week - Ironically, it was a slip out wide that resulted in the next Dale try, the ball being fed back inside to muscular flank Butch Qaba, who thundered over.  Fassi’s conversion put the men from Kingwilliamstown ahead for the first time, 17-15, with twenty minutes to go.

01 July 2017 - SACS (10) 17 Selborne (0) 13 - Cape Schools Week - The second half started with both sides preventing the other from making any real headway until a quick Selborne tap penalty was advanced ten metres, giving flyhalf David Coetzer the chance to put his team on the board after forty minutes.

01 July 2017 - Boland Landbou (14) 17 Grey High (6) 18 - Cape Schools Week - They calmly ate away at the deficit via two majestic penalties by flyhalf LJ du Preez, the ace in their pack proving to be outstanding full-back Sihle Njezula, whose incursions into the backline caused the Farmers loads of problems.

01 July 2017 - Stellenberg (28) 40 Muir (0) 10 - Cape Schools Week - In too many games, the second half lulls shown by the Divan Batt’s team has landed them in difficulty, as the defeats to Bishops and Boland Landbou attests. They really should have done much better after the water-break here, too.

01 July 2017 - Wynberg (15) 22 Queen’s College (5) 26 - Cape Schools Week - The opening exchanges belonged to Queens, no. 8 Siya Jwacu and scrumhalf Edumisa Njumba putting the visitors on the attack before Berg wing Siya Nombakuse and full-back Di Livio van Wyk combined to clear their lines.

24 June 2017 - Glenwood (32) Crowned As KZN #1 Against Maritzburg College (17) - Glenwood had the last say in the game as Flanker Renaku Brynard went over next to the uprights, Hendrikse added to his tally with the final kick of the game. The Green Machine was too strong for the Red, Black and White from Pietermaritzburg.

24 June 2017 - Kearsney (17) Surprise Loss Against Westville (27) - Kearsney scored their first try within 40 seconds after receiving the kickoff, producing some good interplay between backs and forwards. Full back Jacques Odendaal scored, with James Sutherland converting for an early 7-0 lead.

24 June 2017 - Rondebosch (32) Leave It Until The End Against Bishops (19) - Bishops were in the lead for 60 of the 70 minutes of this game, but a late flurry of tries saw Bosch overtake Bishops and win deservingly. The match was played in great spirit, which has not always been the case.

24 June 2017 - Graeme (43) Dominate A Gutsy Union (19) - The Graeme 1st XV did not have much possession in the first half, but they managed to score three tries and looked dangerous every time that got their hands on the ball. 24 June 2017 - SACS Win Their FNB Classic Clash Against Wynberg - Numerous handling errors meant both teams were unable to make early inroads in the second half. It wasn’t until thirteen minutes in that SACS were able to string some meaningful phases together. It started with a turnover secured
