It has been confirmed that coaching legend Hans Coetzee is the chosen one to become the 1stXV coach at Durbanville Hoërskool for 2020/21. Hans Coetzee needs no introduction to anybody in the South African schoolboy circles. His expertise, experience and technical analysis of the game, along with his coaching skills, evaluating of players and developing coaches are widely recognised and respected.
An offer was made to Coetzee mid-December 2019 that will see him join the exclusive Schoolboy Rugby Coach's Millionaire's Club. According to sources, oom Hans, as he is known will earn an excess of R 1 000 000.00 per year if the perks he will receive is added to his yearly salary that was offered by Durbanville Hoërskool.
The appointment of Oom Hans, on a two-year contract basis, is the first shots fired by Durbanville to ensure that their 200th birthday celebrations during 2026 will be a massive success on the rugby field.
A top 20 ranking for 2020 is the realistic short-term goal that was set and seeing that the majority of 2019's 1stXV squad will be in grade 12 during 2020 it should not be that difficult to achieve.
Unconfirmed gossip also has it that an R 35 000 000.00 upgrade to the sporting facilities at the school is also to be completed before the 2026 celebrations.
