Following a meeting held at Parel Vallei High School on Wednesday Garsfontein and Parel Vallei agreed to continue talks to iron out an agreement which will result in another first for SA Schoolboy rugby. The aim of this agreement will be for Garsfontein to assist Parel Vallei in the planning and development of their rugby structures, coaches and players.
Mr Thinus Pienaar, head of rugby at Parel Vallei High School said due to capacity limitations Parel Vallei needed to think outside the box if they want to become a serious contender in Western Province's Premier "B" rugby league.
"We realised if we want to be a success in the newly announced SA Schools Rugby Challenge, we will have to work a lot harder from 2020 onwards. We are excited to be part of this initiative."
"I am excited to sit down with Garsfontein and learn how they managed to become one of the top rugby schools in such a short time. During my short time at Parel Vallei, we achieved a lot and I do believe with Garsfontein's inputs we will take the next step sooner than later."
Mr Gustav Theunissen, Director of Marketing said that Garsfontein is always willing to assist other schools in the planning of a unique program that will benefit not only the rugby players but the entire school.
"We must, however, remember that what works at Garsfontein will not necessarily work at another school. I can not wait to help but hopefully also learn during this exciting program," said Mr Theunissen.
