This year is the second staging of the KougaLentefees Elite 7’s rugby tournament. Once again it forms part of a bigger festival held at Nico Malan High School that include stalls, exhibitions, a lovely beer tent and shows by artists such as Refentse and Leah. There is a once-off entrance fee and it is definitely worthwhile to visit if you are from PE or George or Grahamstown.
The rugby promises to offer spectacular entertainment with the boys for Boishaai headlining the entrants to defend the title they won last year. Unfortunately, Monnas could not make it this year, but the top Grahamstown, PE, Uitenhage and Despatch schools are participating. These include Grey High, Framesby, Brandwag, Despatch, Graeme and St Andrews. The Southern Cape is well represented by Outeniqua and Oakdale, Grens is here from the Border, Noord-Kaap from the Northern Cape and local schools Humansdorp SS and Nico Malan will fly the local flag.
There will be four matches played the Friday afternoon and then the action kicks off at 8:00 Saturday morning.
