Noordheuwel had to wait 15 years to host their neighbours Monnas on the rugby field again and unfortunately, the results were not that kind to the hosts. Monnas won eight from the ten games except for the u/16 A and u/15 B games. However, the approximately 5000 spectators were treated to a great 1stXV battle with the "Wit Bulle" of Monnas securing a 43-27 win.

Noordheuwel made life very difficult for the visitors in the first half and Monnas lead 19-10 at half time with the score not reflecting the dominance in possession of Monnas on the field. Noordheuwel scored their first converted try of the second half almost from the kick off to narrow the gap to 19-17 but thereafter it was Monnas al the way. Monnas scored a further 24 points to the 10 from Noordheuwel.

Rynard Mouton at six for Monnas again raised a lot of questions regarding his omission from the Lions Craven Week squad while Izan Esterhuizen is starting to show the form that made him a sure choice for the SA Schools team. Prop Heiko Pohlmann will however get the most high-five's at school today for his two tries.

For Noordheuwel the two tries Maurice Marks scored need a special mention but the name of general Juan Nieuwenhuizen who's learned boot kept Noordheuwel on the field and on the scoreboard in contention must be mentioned, while Mpho Makata at fullback gave the Monnas defence a lot of headaches on defence.

Monnas: Tries: Collins (2), Pohlman (2), Goodman, Prinsloo, Pennels. Conversions: Hallet (4).

Noordheuwel: Tries: Marks (2) Vermaak. Conversions: Nieuwenhuizen (3). Penalty: Nieuwenhuizen
