In a brilliant second-half performance, Grey College defeated Paarl Boishaai 43-24 scoring an impressive 33 unanswered points in the process. However, with the score 17-10 in favour of Paarl Boishaai at half time, there was still hope for the Paarl Boishaai supporters as Grey College struggled to absorb the in your face pressure.

An early converted penalty by Paarl Boishaai was the only points scored in the first 20 minutes of the game after which Grey College score an unconverted try to take the lead with 5-3. Boys’ High fought back and capitalised on unfamiliar Grey mistakes to take the lead back only three minutes after losing it through a Xavier Farmer try. Farmer scored his second for the day minutes later to stretch the lead of Boishaai to 17-3 with six minutes left on the clock before half time. Grey College, however, finished the stronger before halftime when they scored from a lineout move to trail 10-17 at the break.

Grey College scored an unanswered 38 points with five tries and a penalty try before Paarl Boishaai scored a converted try in the dying stages of the match to narrow the gap to 24-43 which was also the final score.
