KES Still Looking For Their First Win Against Affies

This will be eleventh-time Affies and KES meet on the rugby field with KES still looking for their first win over the boys from Affies. Their game in 2017 was stopped due to excessive lightning while KES was in front and according to the KES supporters was in the lead and well on their way to a historic win.

Affies biggest win came in 2015 when they won 92-0 with their biggest scare, apart from 2017 came in 2012 when Affies won 15-13 against a start-studded KES team which included Springbok Malcolm Marx.

Affies played eight games already in the 2019 season winning seven and lost against Paarl Gim 19-46 two weeks ago. Affies suffered four injuries on the day against Paarl Gym with all four boys still injured. The injuries to the two first-choice flyhalves are going to be problematic as their backline which is very dangerous struggled to get going against Paarl Gym without their two playmakers.

KES preparations for this game was severely interfered by the bad weather experienced last weekend during the Easter Weekend. Both the KES 1stXV's matches were cancelled due to bad weather at the KES Easter Festival resulting in them playing five games and losing two.

Although Affies will miss their two loosies and two flyhalves on the day they should still be able to maintain their unbeaten record against KES, BUT if KES can keep the ball away from the Affies outside backs this could become a long, a very long afternoon on the Plaas.
